The 2015 Canadian Etchells Championship will be held at Hudson Yacht Club on June 20-21. This regatta is always a fun, competitive affair, featuring the beautiful HYC venue and the Lake of Two Mountains. We are fortunate to have the race management talents of Ross Tellier and colleagues managing this year's regatta on-water activities.

NOTICE OF RACE
The Organizing Authority is the Hudson Yacht
Club and The International Etchells Canadian Fleet 3.
1 Rules
1.1This regatta will be governed by the rules
as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing
for 2013-2016 (RRS), the rules of the International Etchells Class Association
(IECA), the Etchells Canadian Fleet 3 By-Laws, this Notice of Race, and any
properly posted amendments to the above.
1.2 If there is a conflict between languages
the English text will take precedence.

Advertising
Advertising is permitted under ISAF
Regulation 20: Advertising Code
3 Eligibility and Entry
3.1 The regatta is
open to all boats of the Etchells Class.
3.2 All skippers
and crew of competing boats must be current members in good standing of the
International Etchells Class Association.
3.3 This regatta is
sanctioned by the IECA as a class C event.
3.4 Eligible boats
may enter by completing the registration form and sending it, together with the
required fee, to the Hudson Yacht Club by 0900 hours Friday, June 19, 2015.
Please note the late fee deadline is June 12, 2015.
3.4.1 Entry Forms
will be available at www.hudsonyachtclub.com
after May 1st, 2015.
3.5 Sail cards and
safety equipment, for each boat, may be verified at registration.
3.6 Crew weigh-in
may be carried out during registration. The combined weight of crew members of
each boat may be posted on the Official Notice Board.
4 Fees
4.1 The entry fee
is $175 (Cdn) per 3 up boat. Four-up boat registration fee is $215 (Cdn).
4.2 Late fees – For
boats registering after June 12, 2015, add $40 to the registration fee.
4.3 Saturday BBQ
dinner and t-shirts for all regatta registered sailors are included in the
registration fees. Additional information and prices will be on the Entry Form.
5 Schedule
5.1 Registration
Friday June 19, 1600-2000 hours and Saturday June 20, 0800-0900 hours in the
HYC clubhouse.
5.2 Competitors’
briefing 0900 hours Saturday June 20 in the HYC clubhouse.
5.3 Dates of
racing: Saturday June 20th and Sunday June 21st.
5.4 The number of
races scheduled is 7.
5.5 The scheduled
time for the warning for the first race Saturday, June 20th is 1100 hours.
5.6 The scheduled
time for the warning for the first race on Sunday June 21st will be 1000 hours.
5.7 No warning
signal will be displayed after 1430 hours Sunday August 28th.
5.8 The awards
ceremony will take place as soon as possible after the last race on Sunday.
6 Venue
Racing will take place on the Lac des Deux
Montagnes.
7 Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions will be available at
registration.
8 The
Course
The courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward
variations as described in the Sailing Instructions.

Penalty System
The Penalty for breaking a rule of Part 2
shall be a One Turn Penalty (one tack and one gybe in the same direction)
except that for infringements occurring within the Zone, as defined in the
current RRS, the penalty shall be Two Turn Penalty (two tacks and two gybes in
the same direction). This changes RRS 44.1 and 44.2

Scoring
10.1. Three races must be completed to
constitute a series.
10.2 If fewer than 5 races have been
completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
10.3 If 5 or more races have been completed, then
each boat’s worst score will be excluded.
11 Launch and Haul Out
All boats must be in the water by 1000 hours Saturday
June 20th and shall not be hauled during the regatta except with the prior
permission of the Race Committee
12 Prizes
Keeper prizes will be awarded for first
through third place.
13 Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the regatta
entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing
authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury
or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the
regatta.

Insurance
Each participating boat shall be insured with
third party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per event
or equivalent.

Radio Communications
15.1 All boats must carry a marine band VHF
radio capable of receiving normal international channels. Boats may use the
radio to report retirement from racing or to request assistance in an
emergency. No other transmissions are permitted by competing boats. The Race
Committee may use the radio to advise competitors of race information.
16 Additional Information
HYC hosts a BBQ
dinner on Fridays during the sailing season. This is a no reservation
dinner, that features a delicious and simple menu, (steaks, burgers, salad
bar). Cash, credit cards or reciprocal chitting available.
On Saturday, June
20, the Etchells Regatta Organizing Committee invites you all to the Regatta Dinner,
included in your regatta fees. A steak dinner with trimmings will be served up
on the waterside terrace (weather permitting). A non-meat dinner will be available
for those who indicate the need on the regatta registration form.
